My first visit to Norway was for an ice climbing trip. We decided to ‘rent-a-wreck’ but all our luggage plus four passengers was too much and we would hear the wheels grinding when cornering. A change of vehicle and and a journey in the dark led us to Rjukan and some fantastic ice. Three years later and I headed to Tromsø with members of the Greenland expedition for a ski touring training trip.
