Greenland

A client once asked me about the favourite place that I had visited. My immediate thought was Greenland. My first time on expedition in the Stauning Alps was the most remote I had ever been, camping within bear defenses and learning to flow with the routine - skiing, digging, drilling, skiing - life at its simplest. The first ascents were exciting and magical. Definitely a high point in my life.

Six years later I returned to work as an Arctic Trekking Guide from Kulusuk and in the surrounding area. This time I was leading groups with a rifle and flares, and ensuring we completed a bear watch each night.
