A chance encounter on the West Highland Way in Scotland led to a trans-Atlantic friendship and two fantastic trips to the US for some hiking. At 3,540km, the Applachain Trail is an epic undertaking with it’s own language of NOBOs, SOBOs, flip-floppers and thru hikers. The monotonous nature of the trail means it has been dubbed the ‘green corridor’ occasionally opening up to majestic views but otherwise allowing you to get lost in your thoughts and even lose yourself completely by choosing a trail name.
