My first trip to east Africa was during an El Niño year. After three years of drought there had been heavy rains, meaning the landscape was green and lush and the animals had a variety of grazing grounds, although this had caused an array of issues for the people living there. Since then I have taken groups up Mount Kilimanjaro and on expedition around Lake Manyara. I work there with some incredible people, both from the UK and local Tanzanians, and this team feels like family.
